There are reasons we consider BMX Freestyle an art, as we all start with a blank slate we create our individual style and expression of bike stunts.  There are no required stunts, or a list of specific stunts that even confers an athlete the title of “PRO”.  We don’t even really know what a pro is, we can just see it in their riding, a professional artist, using the bike to create their own individual style and stunts.  Many athletes hide the stunts they are training, as a painter would hide their painting, until ready for the reveal.  And in contests, the most structured part of this art, and what makes many call it a sport,  there are no pre-requisites for what must be done to place well.  Think of it more like a “battle of the bands”, an event that features artists entertaining their audience and someone arbitrarily awards the winner, mainly based on the reactions they elicit from their audience.  While BMX straddles the line between art and sport, for the athletes its an art and a lifestyle.  They are just as stoked to ride with friends away from the crowds, refining their skills, and establishing their individual style, pushing the bounds of their limits, what is possible and “painting” a picture of their body of work for audiences.  Lastly, most BMX athletes remain largely non-competitive, preferring the camaraderie with fellow athlete/artists, even supporting each other, not as teammates, but as artists enjoying the progression of their craft than the vitriol often connected to sports.  BMX is a “family” of artists and individuals, who support each other in the furtherance of what they love, creating and perfecting seemingly impossible stunts with their BMX bikes.   *** RATES Range from $1597-$1897 depending on location, piggybacking, District Rates and more… inquire for BEST DEALS
